As we kick off the new year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible growth and energy we’ve seen at OAHS over the past few years—especially in our extracurricular programs. With over 80% of our students involved in athletics, clubs, and leadership, school spirit is soaring!

Our new gymnasium has been a game-changer, hosting volleyball and basketball games and bringing packed stands and unmatched energy. It has also transformed rallies, dances, and performances, giving our students a space to shine. Our soccer teams are now playing home games on campus for the first time in a long time, strengthening student support and school pride.

Beyond sports, student involvement is at an all-time high in Robotics, ASB, Theater, Band, Choir, Freshman Connect Crew, and over 20 active clubs. The passion and dedication from our students, staff, and families are making OAHS a place where everyone can find their path and thrive.

As we move into the new year, remember to take advantage of the resources available to you—teacher support, tutoring, and intervention programs. Stay engaged, ask for help when needed, and make the most of everything OAHS has to offer!

Important Information

Orcutt Academy Enrollment 2026-2027 - Post Lottery

The enrollment lottery for 2026-2027 for Orcutt Academy High School and the Academy's K-8 campus in Los Alamos was held on February 4, 2026. A post-lottery drawing for all post-lottery enrollment applications received through May 5, 2026, will be held on May 6, 2026. The post-lottery drawing will fill any available seats and order grade-level wait lists beyond those established by the February 4 lottery. We invite interested families to submit post-lottery applications.

OAHS Virtual Learning Program

Experience a unique approach to online education with the OAHS Virtual Learning Academy!

Combining the flexibility of online learning with the connection and support of being part of the Orcutt Academy High School community, our Virtual Learning Academy has been designed with your success in mind.

OAHS Virtual Learning Academy pairs Edgenuity’s Courseware Curriculum with dedicated support from our highly qualified staff, and the opportunity to engage with a wide range of campus life events and extra curricular activities, including sports, music, arts, and science.

You can choose from a 100% online learning experience or get the best of both worlds with our hybrid approach that allows you to participate in up to two in-person classes at the OAHS campus.

Independent Study / Pre Approved Absences

Short Term Independent Study

Independent Study/Pre Approved Absences should be requested prior to a planned absence period if your student will be gone between 2 and 14 school days. Independent Study/Pre Approved Absences are granted at the discretion of the Vice Principal for students with good citizenship and in good academic standing (above a 2.0 GPA with no “F”s).

Parents/guardians must request Independent Study/Pre Approved Absences no less than five school days in advance of a planned absence period. Students returning from Independent Study/Pre Approved Absences must report to the attendance office upon return, and all work must be completed and turned at that time.

Charter Renewal

The Orcutt Academy is seeking a renewal of its charter through June 30, 2032. State law regarding charter renewal indicates that two Governing Board public hearings are required for charter renewal. Please visit the About Us page for more information.
