Community Service

Community Service

At Orcutt Academy High School, we believe being of service to your school and your community is essential to leading an impactful, purposeful life.

Students across the student body—individually and with clubs/organization—dedicate time throughout the year to help people and organizations in the Santa Maria Valley and beyond. Giving back to the community through service learning is the outgrowth of an attitude of responsibility and character which Orcutt Academy strives for and expects amongst its students.

A Proud History Of Service

Since our founding, Orcutt Academy High School has been committed to giving back to the community.

Community service efforts have always been an integral piece of student life at OAHS. 40 hours or more of community service is required to graduate at Orcutt Academy High School. Regular school-wide service learning experiences through our ASB and individual student-led efforts define our commitment to service. Students are required to track their hours throughout their four years of high school through X-2VOL.

Outdoor School Camp Counselors. Every year, selected eleventh and twelfth grade students spend a week as Outdoor School Counselors in coordination with the Orcutt Union School Districtundefineds Outdoor School Program.

Club and Organizational

Club and Organizational opportunities give students more chances to give back. Individual Student-led projects are also an integral part of the experience at Orcutt Academy. Campus beautification, murals, and canned food drives are just a few of the opportunities in which students are able to serve their school and community.

ASB and the student body

ASB and the student body volunteers in support of a community organization and participates in service-learning projects over the course of two weeks during the “Season of Serve” each year.
