SPARTAN NEWSLETTER
October 18, 2024
Good afternoon, Spartan Families!
This week, we wanted to take a moment to recognize our CTE Theatre Program and give a shout-out before the upcoming performance. The Addams Family is currently being worked on by three classes at Orcutt Academy. Under the direction of Mr. Shaw, the technical theater class is building props and set pieces for the show. Drama production is busy at work to choreograph and block the entire show. Choir is supporting the show musically and Mrs. Sullivan is serving as Music Director. Mr. Shaw is really proud of this group as there are a lot of leaders who have stepped up, and we are also excited to have partnered with PCPA and Orcutt Academy graduate Justin Roslinda.

Community Service
Spartan Code Highlight: Volunteer Meaningfully in the community and exceed the service requirement
Volunteering is an essential part of being a Spartan, and we encourage all students to not only meet but exceed the 40 hour service requirement over their high school years. With 10 hours expected each year, this is a great way to give back and make a real difference in our community. A special shout-out this week goes to Landon Paige, who volunteered some of his time this week to help our district technology department by cleaning Chromebooks and iPads —an excellent example of meaningful service! He shared, "This experience has helped me appreciate the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly. It’s given me a better perspective on how important small tasks can be in the bigger picture."

Don’t forget to log your community service hours in x2VOL. Let’s aim to go beyond the minimum and make a lasting impact! There are so many opportunities over the upcoming holiday season to give back--don't miss out on them, Spartans!

Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
