SPARTAN NEWSLETTER

June 5, 2025

Wrapping Up an Amazing Year, Spartans!

As we close out the 2024-2025 school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that our Spartans accomplished this year. From our first-ever Senior Capstone Projects, to record-setting performances in music, athletics, and academics, it has been a year of growth, resilience, and Spartan pride!
A few highlights mainly focused on more recent events (there are just too many to mention for the full year!):
  • Our Girls Softball Team bringing home a CIF Central Section Championship
  • Senior Capstones launching as a new OAHS tradition
  • An incredible run of music and theatre productions, including Little Red Goes West
  • Robotics, SkillsUSA, Band, Choir, Cybersecurity, and many other programs earning regional and state honors
  • Another strong year of college and career acceptances for the Class of 2025
It’s been an incredible year—thank you to our students, staff, families, PTSA, Boosters, and community for making it all possible!

Correction from Last Week

A quick correction to last week’s newsletter—our 2020-2021 Girls Basketball team was actually the first-ever CIF team sport champion at OAHS. We are proud to recognize their place in Spartan history! We’ve included a picture of the Championship Squad below.

Summer Community Service Opportunities

Summer is a great time for students to get involved in local community service! Many of our Spartans have already logged hours this year through volunteering, leadership, and service projects—and there are plenty of ways to keep building those connections over the summer:

Remember: All OAHS students need 40 hours of community service to graduate (10 hours per year is a good target!). If you’re looking for opportunities, check out local organizations, summer events, and x2VOL for ideas and to log your hours.

Wishing You a Safe and Restful Summer

This is our final newsletter of the school year. We wish all of our Spartan families a safe, fun, and well-deserved summer break. Whether you’re traveling, working, or recharging—enjoy the time.
We’ll see you back on campus soon—Spartans return in August, and we can’t wait to kick off another great year together!

Sincerely,

Rhett Carter
