It’s been an exciting fall sports season at OAHS, and several of our teams and athletes are closing out strong and heading into CIF playoffs next week.

  • Girls Volleyball heads into the CIF Playoffs, coming off an impressive regular season Senior Night win yesterday over PVHS.
  • Football plays tonight in their final regular season game, which will determine CIF seeding.
  • Girls Golf also has athletes advancing to CIF competition this Monday.
  • Cross Country continues to show steady improvement, with several strong finishes in recent meets and will compete in the CIF Central Championships in Fresno.

Progress Period 2 Grades Finalized

Progress Period 2 grades are now official. This checkpoint gives students, families, and teachers the opportunity to celebrate growth and identify areas for continued focus heading into the second half of the semester.

If grades weren’t where you hoped, now is the time to regroup and lean into the support systems available before grades are finalized at the end of the semester. Students are encouraged to reach out to their teachers, use intervention or tutoring opportunities, and stay connected through Aeries and ParentSquare.

Let’s finish the semester strong, Spartans!

ASB Updates

This week’s Senior Spotlight is Krysta Cotter!

Krysta has been a dedicated member of Cross Country for four years, where she currently serves as team captain. She’s also competed on Varsity Swim for one year and Varsity Track for three years, qualifying for Track CIF Masters in the 4x800m relay in 2023.

Beyond athletics, Krysta has been involved in NHS and Robotics, and she currently serves as President of the Aviation Club. A true Scholar Athlete, Krysta maintains an impressive 4.48 GPA.

Congratulations, Krysta!

Mr. Ostini is this week's Teacher Spotlight!

Mr. Ostini is in his eighth year at Orcutt Academy High School, where he continues to bring energy and connection to the Spartan community. A Santa Maria High School graduate, he and his wife—whom he met in AP European History—were voted Cutest Couple and Most Likely to Succeed.

He went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Cal Poly, where he also earned his English teaching credential. After teaching English abroad in Dalian, China, he returned to the Central Coast to teach at Pioneer Valley High School before serving as Dean of Students at Fesler and Vice Principal at Arellanes Junior High Schools.

Mr. Ostini joined Orcutt Academy in 2017–18 and has been a proud Spartan ever since. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and hanging out with Jack, the family’s German Shepherd.

We’re lucky to have you at OAHS, Mr. Ostini!
