Another Great Showcase!

Thank you to everyone who joined us Wednesday evening for another outstanding Spartan Showcase at Orcutt Academy. The evening was a wonderful celebration of the many talents, programs, and opportunities that make our school so special.

Families and guests enjoyed outstanding performances from our Choir, Theatre Arts, Jazz Band, and Concert Band students, while also having the opportunity to visit student exhibits including Visual Arts, Cybersecurity, Robotics, Theatre Arts, Science, and more.

A special thank you to our students, staff, and families who helped make this event such a tremendous success. Events like Spartan Showcase are a powerful reminder of the incredible things happening every day at Orcutt Academy.

Real-World Learning in Action

Students from two AP Government classes recently had the unique opportunity to participate in a mock trial inside an actual courtroom. Hosted by Superior Court Judge Karen O'Neil, the simulation centered around the Salem Witch Trials and gave 55 students an authentic look at our judicial system and the rights of individuals being tried for a crime.

Students took on the roles of clerks, bailiffs, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and jurors throughout the experience.

A special thank you to Judge O’Neil for providing this incredible opportunity and to Mr. Murray for helping make it possible for our students.

Robotics Makes Their Mark on the World Stage

Congratulations to our Spartatroniks Robotics Team on an outstanding performance at the FIRST World Championships in Houston this past weekend.

Competing against some of the top programs in the world, Orcutt Academy finished 50th in the Hopper Division, ranked 38th in California, and among the top 200 teams worldwide.

Beyond competition, students were able to attend conferences, connect with recruiters from organizations such as NASA, Qualcomm, and Haas Automation, and visit the Johnson Space Center.

We are incredibly proud of the way these students continue to represent Orcutt Academy on the global stage.

Mental Health Awareness Month

Throughout the month of May, our ASB students and counseling team will be recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month by providing students with a variety of activities focused on wellness, connection, stress management, and self-care.

Students can look forward to events such as Stressless Bracelet Making, DIY Positive Pins, Kindness Notes & Positivi-Tea, Calming Slime, Rock Painting, Stress Balls, Know the Signs Jenga, and our Mental Health Awareness Fair later this month.

We are proud of the way our students and staff continue to promote a campus culture where asking for help, supporting one another, and prioritizing wellness are encouraged.

Thank you to our counseling staff, Mrs. Cedillo and Mrs. Perez, for their leadership and hard work in putting all of this together for our students.
