SPARTAN NEWSLETTER
October 11, 2024
Good afternoon, Spartan Families!
It is that time of year that any future Orcutt Academy High School Spartans need to start thinking and preparing for joining us for the 2025-2026 school year! We have attached this year’s lottery application schedule to this week’s newsletter. It is crucial for any new students interested in attending Orcutt Academy next school year fill out the enrollment lottery application, which will be available on both the Orcutt Union School District and Orcutt Academy websites starting November 4, 2024, during the application window.

If you have a student currently attending the Academy who has an 8th grade brother or sister, then it is imperative that they also fill out the form. Siblings receive a preference and are typically in the school but they must fill out a form during the lottery application period in order to be eligible for the initial lottery. There are also several informational nights for potential families (see dates/times/location on the schedule below). Those nights include information on school, its programs and on the enrollment lottery process. Please share this information with family and friends that you know may be interested in becoming a Spartan!
OA Info Nights
We are coming up on the final weeks of the 2024 Fall sports regular season. Several of our teams and athletes are on track to compete in CIF and all are working hard. We are very proud of our teams and coaches who continue to work hard not only to compete but also to represent themselves with pride, class, and effort. These experiences will teach invaluable life lessons and make our students stronger even during the most difficult times in their lives. We are very grateful to our coaches and volunteers who give up countless hours to work with our students and to help them learn and grasp these invaluable life experiences. Please take a minute to watch the video compilation our ASB put together to honor and highlight our fall sports athletes!

Spartan Code Highlight: Show Up to Class on Time
Being on time to class is a simple but powerful way to show responsibility and respect for your learning and your peers. When Spartans arrive ready and on time, it sets the tone for a productive and focused class. Let’s all make it a priority to be punctual and start each class on the right foot--especially first period!
