SPARTAN NEWSLETTER
November 1, 2024
Good afternoon, Spartan Families!
At OA, we’re all about getting our students ready for life after high school, and our Senior Success class is a huge part of that effort. This class, designed just for seniors, gives them practical support in navigating college applications, finding scholarships, understanding financial aid, and exploring different career paths. Each week, students dive into activities and hear from guest speakers who bring real-world advice and insights that help them plan their futures.

This past Wednesday, our seniors took things a step further by attending Transfer Day at Allan Hancock College. It was a great chance to learn about transferring to four-year colleges, with representatives from CSU, UC, and private universities on hand to talk through admissions, scholarships, academic programs, and more. Students also got to tour some of AHC’s many pathways, giving them a closer look at the options available.

Our Senior Success class and events like this show how OA prepares students for life beyond high school. Each year, from freshman to senior, we’re building a strong foundation to help every Spartan explore options, set meaningful goals, and move confidently toward their future.

Go Spartans!

OAHS 2024 Homecoming Rally Recap

At Saturday’s Homecoming Game against Laguna Blanca, we welcomed back several former Spartans who joined the current band and cheer teams, adding to the fun atmosphere. The football team, fueled by a tough defensive effort, claimed victory with a 28-14 final score. We also crowned our Homecoming King and Queen at halftime, making it a memorable afternoon for all in attendance. With a strong 5-2 record, our Spartans now gear up to play Santa Clara (4-3) in Oxnard on Friday, November 1, in a game that will impact both league and CIF standings.

Spartan Code Highlight: Be Responsible for Guests You Bring
With a successful Homecoming dance behind us, we’re reminded of how important it is for Spartans to be responsible for any guests they bring to Orcutt Academy events. Whether it’s performances, dances, or games, ensuring that guests share our values of respect and responsibility helps keep our events positive and welcoming. Thank you for helping us maintain a great atmosphere at OA!
