Celebrating Our Teachers

This week, we proudly celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. From classrooms to concerts, competitions to campus events, our teachers are the driving force behind everything great happening at OA. Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for the passion, energy, and care you bring to our students each and every day.

A special thank you to our PTSA for helping us show appreciation throughout the week and making our Spartan Showcase and even better event with delicious tacos! Your support means the world to our team!

From Wednesday night's Spartan Showcase, here is the Orcutt Academy HS Band playing "Deus Ex Machina." Directed by Josie Coburn, the OAHS Band is coming off of a Disneyland Music in the Parks showing in which it earned a Superior rating, won its division, and placed first overall of all divisions. We see and hear why!

Teaching Through Experience – The Renaissance Faire

Led by Ms. Eimile Pay, last Friday's 2nd Annual Renaissance Faire brought history to life right here on campus. Students showcased their learning with interactive booths and hands-on learning. It was an event filled with creativity, engagement, and a great sense of community.

Exploring the Future – Cybersecurity at UCSB

Thanks to Ms. Heather Penk, students in our Cybersecurity program took a field trip to UCSB to dive deeper into one of today’s fastest-growing fields. From touring labs to connecting with industry professionals, it was an unforgettable experience that gave students a real look at the future of tech—and their place in it.

Choir Shines in Spring Performance

Under the direction of Ms. Katie Sullivan, our choir students delivered a beautiful Spring Concert last Friday. The performance was heartfelt and full of harmony, and we’re proud of the incredible talent our students brought to the stage.

Spartans Competing with Heart – Spring Sports Update

As we close out the Spring Sports season, we want to give a big shoutout to all of our student-athletes in Swim, Track & Field, Boys Golf, Boys Tennis, Baseball, Softball, and Boys Volleyball. Your dedication and effort this season have been outstanding, and we’re proud of the way you’ve represented OAHS.

A special congratulations to our Boys Volleyball team, who are headed to the CIF Division III Semifinals after two impressive playoff wins! They’ll take on Roosevelt High School (Fresno) on Tuesday, May 13 at 5:00 PM at Pioneer Valley High School. Let’s fill the gym and cheer them on!

In Boys Tennis, we’re thrilled to share that Etienne and Ben have advanced to CIF Regionals, making them two of the top four players in our entire section to represent at the next level. Incredible job and best of luck as they move forward!

And in Swim and Track & Field, several individual Spartans are also continuing their postseason journeys in CIF competition this coming week—congrats to each of them!

ASB SPOTLIGHTS

Title goes College Spotlight: UC Acceptances Roll In!

This week, we’re celebrating our seniors accepted to University of California campuses across the state—from UCSB to UCLA to UC Davis and beyond. These students have worked hard and pushed themselves in and out of the classroom, and we couldn’t be more proud.

We’ll continue highlighting college-bound Spartans each week, including those heading to private schools and out-of-state universities in upcoming newsletters!
This week’s Senior Spotlight is Chloe Foreman!

She has received a Spartan Achievement Award for Art 2, was a CLA member for 2 years, and was acting secretary for the FIND club. She has also been on the varsity dance team for 3 years and is co-captain this year. Congratulations, Chloe!!!💕

Congratulations, Chloe! 👹
