Homecoming Week is Here!

Next week, Spartan Spirit will be on full display as we celebrate Homecoming Week at OAHS! Our ASB students have been hard at work planning a full lineup of lunchtime activities, dress-up days, a Friday rally, and of course, Saturday’s Homecoming Game and Dance.

From Batjama Day to Heroes vs. Villains, this week is all about showing school pride, having fun, and celebrating what makes our Spartan Family special. A huge thank-you to our ASB team for the creativity and effort they’ve put into planning an unforgettable week!

That evening, we’ll celebrate with the Homecoming Dance, themed “A Night in Gotham.” Tickets are available now—see ASB/Business Office for details.

Let’s make it a week to remember, Spartans—bring your spirit!

PSAT Thank You

A big thank you to all of our students and staff for their focus and teamwork during Tuesday's PSAT. Students in grades 9–11 worked hard and took the test seriously, while our seniors participated in a series of college and career, life skills, and team-building exercises to help them prepare for life after high school.

The PSAT gives students the chance to identify academic strengths, explore scholarship opportunities, and prepare for future success. We’re proud to offer this opportunity to all students at no cost and are grateful for everyone’s hard work in making it a smooth and productive day. We will notify students and families when the results become available.

ASB Updates

This week’s Senior Spotlight is Mara Richardson!

Mara has been a dedicated member of Color Guard for four years, serving as captain for one. She has been part of the Class of 2026 leadership team for all four years, including two years as treasurer, and has also been involved in Interact Club for two years.

Mara’s accomplishments extend well beyond campus—she competed in SkillsUSA, earning first place at Regionals and second place at State for Customer Service. She has received the Merit Award every year, accumulated over 230 hours of community service, played Varsity Tennis, and participated in Bad Book Club for two years. With an impressive 4.03 GPA, Mara continues to model excellence, leadership, and service.

Congratulations, Mara!

This week’s Teacher Spotlight is Mr. Carter!

Mr. Carter has been the principal of OAHS for 13 years! While he never originally planned to become a principal—he even once considered a career in law enforcement—a few key mentors in his life inspired him to pursue a career in education.

Mr. Carter values faith, family, friends, and food, and his favorite part of the job is seeing students succeed. His leadership, dedication, and care for the OAHS community make a lasting impact every day.

Thank you, Mr. Carter, for all that you do!
