SPARTAN NEWSLETTER
January 24, 2025
Good afternoon, Spartan Families!
A big thank you to all students and staff for handling Thursday’s lockdown drill so well. Everyone followed the protocols reviewed in Spartan Homeroom on Wednesday, and the drill went smoothly. These practice runs are important to keeping our campus safe, and we appreciate everyone taking them seriously!

We have a great opportunity coming up—Dr. Kevin Walthers, President of Allan Hancock College, will be speaking in the OA Gym on Monday at 6 PM. He has been a huge proponent of early college and integral in setting up the vision that has allowed OAHS to offer 19 different concurrent enrollment courses this semester. This event is free for all students and parents! Whether you're considering Hancock as a college option or just want to hear about the many opportunities available, this is a great chance to get informed. We hope to see a big turnout.

As we wrap up an incredible winter sports season, it’s time to show some love to our senior athletes. Their hard work and dedication deserve to be celebrated, so let’s pack the stands and field for their Senior Nights next week. Check the schedule, grab some friends, and come cheer on our Spartans. It’s also a great week for students to show their Spartan pride with spirit days all week (including jersey day on Monday), leading up to the Winterfest rally on Friday. Also, there will be some extra special giveaways at the boys’ basketball game, so don’t miss out on the fun!
